Wan Burhanuddin is my husband's uncle ,celebrated his 50th birthday recently. His wife just ordered a set of cupcakes with his name and 50th bday on each cupcake to suprise him. I added those decor because he loves golf and spent his time everyday after office at the golf range... Uncle Din , I'm sure you're smiling with LOL when you open the box (macam perli jer eh??) hehehe....

Raya gathering

10" moist chocolate cake frosted with dark chocolate ganache, 'selamat hari raya aidilfitri' edible image and decorated with pink roses( from royal icing). This one ordered for recent raya gathering by my dear friend Lynda who has moved to her new house at Lake Edge in Kota Kemuning. Nice area, nice house...'wink wink'

Belated Bday

Happy belated bday dear Kak Jae ,wishing you a bday filled with sweet moments and wonderful memories to cherish with. Glad that you all like the strawberry cupcakes frosted with whipped cream and those flowers were made from royal icing ( pansies & rose) which you can keep forever ... 'grin'. These set ordered by my loyal customer for her husband's auntie,uncle and niece..yup 3 of them sharing these lovely pastel colours of green and pink vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream icing ( same design I did for tiffany blue theme). Sukhoi

Strawberry cake frosted with blue whipped cream, on top part I frost it with slightly darker blue buttercream icing and covered it with 'sukhoi' jet fighter edible image, (picture was taken during recent air show by my dear hubby, nice picture!) and specially requested by bday boy Wan Arif who has turned 6 on the 12th october....Happy Bday may all your dreams come true and be ready for your school next year !!! Pink Riding Hood

I've made this 8" chocolate fudge cake decorated with sugar paste in september for my lovely daughter Sabrina Azalea's 9th birthday. She just asked me to create a cake with 'BRATZ' edible image but I suggested/insisted to create a special cake and it turned out this one!! She was so happy and smiling the whole day... as she wasn't sure whether its pink riding hood or her granny...hahahahaha. I love you so very much dear, muahs!!!

Victorian Rose

These victorian roses were made specially for engagement occasion, ordered by my sister in law's friend, Ariza (not for herself but for her cousin, if not mistaken). Not so little size of vanilla cupcakes frosted with vanilla buttercream , covered with white sugar paste and topped with beautiful victorian rose . Nicely decorated in PVC round box with fabric flowers on top.Congratulations to the couple and thank you Ariza for the order...

Lovely pastel

I made these lovely pastel colours vanilla cupcakes for recent gathering with my MAS batch gals at Bubba Gump Shrimp @ the Curve. Thank you gals for the compliments, glad that you all like the cuppies and thanks for the great nite and delicious food. Love you all muah muah....

Cupcakes are now becoming so popular that they are establishing themselves in many new ways. People are for instance , sending cupcakes instead of flowers , chocolates and etc to celebrate all kinds of special occasions from weddings , Aqiqahs , anniversaries and many more. Cupcakes come in many shapes and guises , but the one thing they all have in common is that they're small , individual sized cakes decorated with pretty icing and so versatile , truly there's a cupcake design for every occasion . Cupcake tiers are now the new fashion in wedding cakes too. Cupcakes are without doubt 'a cake for all seasons' universally appreciated by young and old.....

Using Colour

Mix and match vibrant colours to make your cake designs stand out , or learn how to add subtle tones for a more delicate finish . Your skill with modelling and piping is important , but a stunning ends result hinges upon your ability to combine and use colours .

THE COLOUR WHEEL

The colour wheel helps you to see how one colour relates to another . If colour are close together on the colour wheel and have colours in common , they are said to be related . Related colours go well together . The colour wheel is made up of primary colour , secondary colour and tertiary colours .

Primary colours

Red , yellow and blue are the primary colours , they are pure colours and all other colours come from a mix of these three . Red and yellow are warm colours , and blue is cool .

Secondary colours

Secondary colours are an equal mix of two primary colours . Blue and yellow produce green , red and blue produce violet , and yellow and red produce orange .

Tertiary colours

Tertiary colours , or the third layer , come from using one primary and one secondary colour mixed together .

COLOURING VARIABLES

There are no absolutes in mixing icing colours because of the many things that can affect the colour , such as ingredients , temperature and humidity , time and light .

INGREDIENTS

Shortening , margerine and butter make colours turn darker , whereas lemon juice softens colours . If you use salt in your buttercream icing , mix your colours the night before , if the salt is not thoroughly dissolved , it will leave little light spots in your icing .

TEMPERATURE & HUMIDITY

In icings that contain shortening , margerine or butter , the temperature of the room , heat of your hands and warmth of the liquid you add can affect the icing colour . Warmth seems to make the colour darken or become deeper .

TIME

When using buttercream icing , soft or light colours can be made and used immediatetly and will only darken slightly . But when you are striving for dark colours , mix in the colours and then let the icing sit overnight before decorating , you won't have to use quite as much colour . Charcoal grey will turn black . and an almost red will turn bright red .

LIGHT

When your creation is finished , be careful to protect your work from sunlight or other bright lights . Pinks are especially susceptible to fading . Purples fade to blues , blues to grey , black to purple or green .
